the premise of this was great. I was really excited to start this...My excited quickly went down hill. The world building is very lacking. I don't really know much about any of it... also, the character development was so BAM. From one moment to the next, Rachel's feelings changed. Also, the Curse One.... What was that about. Apparently it's unbeatable, and then all of a sudden, some tiny little flute looking thing can control it's every move.. How did that happen? Why does the device control it?I'm disappointed to say the least. So much potential.
more like 3.99999this was good, but I wish there would have been more about the magic of the Ley lines.Really looking forward to the sequel!
TOO MANY FEELS.seriously.. that ending!! WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT. I know there's a fourth novel in Ash's perspective... but still.GAH.
is it weird that I wanted her to pick the other guy? I don't know. I love both Puck and Ash. but.....Too many FEEEELLLS, seriously, now I need to read The Iron Queen ASAP.
I really could have given this 5 stars, the plot and writing was definitely worthy of it. My ONLY complaint about this is that the ending was too abrupt. I don't like that after things finally started happening at the end.. it just went too fast. I wish there would have been a little more at the end. BUT, it was still an amazing read. I loved the characters. I relate to Amy is so many ways. She is pretty damn tough, especially with everything she's been through not only with her Dad, but with her brother and mother. She's basically on her own to deal with all these emotional issues, but she always puts on a brave face. I don't think I would have her courage. Then there's Roger.. I LOVED ROGER. I can't really say that there is one ultimate reason as to why I loved him so much. I just loved his personality, and all his friends that we meet along this epic detour made me like him so much more. Anyways, READ THIS BOOK. my review sucks.. but it's my first. and I just wanted to give a reason for my 4 stars.
If it would have been longer it would most likely have been better. I enjoyed it, but I would have loved MORE.
Great start to a series. I will definitely be picking up the rest of them. The sexual tension between Rose and Dimitri.. seriously, can we get more of that? I sure hope so.
What a seriously F**ked up book. I couldn't stop reading, because I needed to see what they would do next. I'm cursing like crazy at the ending, and the middle and the beginning.. what a complete cluster fuck of relationship up's and down's. I don't even know what to say. The reason as to why I kinda liked this book is even beyond my understanding. I'm confused.
I'm not really sure what to rate this. I don't really have anything else to compare it to. I've never read anything with Sirens before... I kinda enjoyed it, but found the plot development lacking. What made this good for me was Gemma and Harper's relationship and Daniel and Harper's ongoing flirtation. i'd give it a 2 or 3... but I'll give it a 3 for the things that I really liked about the novel. Hopefully the sequel will be more developed and complex.
I've read this twice before, but it's been a few years since I last read it. Looking forward to refreshing my memory before the film comes out on March 29th.Just the fact that Saoirse Ronan is playing the main protagonist(s) is enough of a motivation to see this movie. I can't wait. I think it'll be epic.****Never ended up reading it a third time, had too many things to do.. Sadly. But the movie was amazing.
