Origin

Origin - Jessica Khoury so much potential... something was lacking for me... I just can't put my finger on it.and insta-love. Nothing worse than insta-love. I wish the relationship would have built up over more time. I hate it when the entirety of a book takes place in a very short time span. Makes everything feel rushed. Decent concept, and "world" building.
Unravel Me - Tahereh Mafi I can start of by saying I preferred Unravel Me to Shatter Me. Mostly because of Warner. I know most people hate him, but I can't help loving him. There was a lot more insight into his character and I'm so happy about that. He is very misunderstood. ANYWAYS.There was action, romance, tears and a little laughter stuffed in. It was a great read. It's only major downfall is that the story is mostly build around the romantic relationships found within the story. Which leaves a lot of questions unanswered when it comes to the world building. We saw a little more in this book, but not enough to really give a complete sense of the world we're in. I really enjoy certain characters, especially Warner. He is kind of mysterious and dangerous. I like that a lot. It doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous and has that bad boy thing going on. I like him enough to even be the annoying girl who says: "I'M TEAM WARNER". Which I know people hate, because they think he's insane and psychotic and cruel and they don't think there should be any teams at all. Well you know what???TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER TEAM WARNER I also really like Kenji. We got to see a little more into his life and personality. He's more than just a jokester, which was fun to see. On the other hand, Juliette is a little whinny and childish for my taste. I can definitely say that by the end of the book I liked her more. I'm really excited to see how she is in the final book.Rating: 3.999999999. A little more insight into their world would have given this a 4.Lastly, CHAPTER 62. *SWOOOOOOON* (drools all over self)

The Elite (The Selection, #2)

The Elite - Kiera Cass Giving this 3 stars is me being generous. I wasn't that into The Selection, but there was definite potential as a series, if done right. All I can say is that I really really dislike America Singer. I can't say it's one specific characteristic that makes me feel that way. It's more little things in her personality. This wasn't horrible, I still read it in one sitting. Mostly because I wanted to see if America could redeem herself as a protagonist. She didn't. She is weak willed, selfish, whiny, among other less than stellar qualities. She is the opposite of what I look for in a lead female character. I liked Aspen, if only for the fact that he was kind. When he and America were together, my dislike for her lessened somewhat.I do not particularly like Maxon. I won't go into detail. I'll leave that to other readers to discover themselves. Sadly, I didn't connect to the characters or the story. I will probably read the final installment in the series regardless. It's rare that I give up a series. I'm too curious. Hopefully the final book is better.

Shatter Me

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi First read on April 5th, 2012. Rereading so I can read Unravel Me without being confused the whole time.I still remember how I felt about this book the first time around. I wasn't completely into it, my basic reason for liking it was the Romance. It didn't have that much going on for me.1- The constant metaphors (which I've seen in almost every review I've read this past week) are a little annoying.. so the writing kinda threw me off. Although after a while you kinda get used to it and it doesn't bother you are much.2- the striking out, although sometimes fitting, was weird.3- What I liked about it was Adam and Juliette.. Even Warner. If it weren't for the characters and the romance, I don't think I would have enjoyed this much.Anyways, I'm still looking forward to Unravel Me.Thoughts after reread on April 19, 2013.I'd give it 3.5 stars this time. I still stick to the points I previously made, but I was a little more into the book this time. Warner is such a good antagonist. As much as I am Team Adam after the first book, I still find my self curious about Warner. There has to be some reason he is the way he is. I really hope the book explores him a little more. Ordering it RIGHT NOW.
Destroy Me - Tahereh Mafi I am so HAPPY that Tahereh wrote this. I was always curious, interested and fascinated by Warner.I still think he is somewhat sadistic and manipulative (and many more bad things), but now I understand him. He hasn't had it easy. Seeing his real motivation behind "obtaining" Juliet changed my perception of him quite a bit. Also seeing his emotions... it was great to see that he isn't just what he portrays himself to be. He can be kind, and caring. He just wasn't brought up in a loving environment. I get him.I just want to see it all play out. I can truthfully say that if she were to choose Warner in the end, I wouldn't even be surprised. It could go both ways.GAHHH, Warner. I love me some Warner. Now I am definitely ordering Unravel Me. RIGHT THIS SECOND. .....I just really wanna know his first name. Dammit.

Walking Disaster: A Novel

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire I loved reading Abby's and Travis' story from a new POV. Travis was a lot easier to understand once you were inside is head and could really see his emotions and his train of thought. I still stand by my review for Beautiful Disaster: They are completely fucked. It is and shall always be a clusterfuck of a relationship, but this time, I was wholeheartedly rooting for Travis. Even when he was at his worst. I wanted Abby to really see how he was changing, not because he needed to, but because for the first time in his life he was letting someone into his heart and it was making him a better, albeit still very flawed man.I'm so sad that their crazy roller coaster of a story has come to an end. The Epilogue was a nice touch. Wasn't exactly what I would have expected, but it gave the characters and the story closure. It didn't leave you wondering about anything. It was plain, simple and pretty much perfect.I love Travis Maddox. He is one crazy bastard, but I loved every second I spent is his passionate, insecure, and completely wonderful mind.
Days of Blood & Starlight - Laini Taylor I enjoyed this more than the first... I think mostly because we got to see the war, and the story from many different perspectives. So my rating is more along the lines of 3.5/3.9ish.
Heist Society - Ally Carter Good, but not as exciting as I hoped it would be.
Opal - Jennifer L. Armentrout WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Onyx - Jennifer L. Armentrout SERIOUSLY. DAEMON. SERIOUSLY.
Obsidian - Jennifer L. Armentrout The beginning was cheesy, but as the story went on I got totally hooked. Can't wait to read the sequel. Read this in one sitting, could not put it down! Daemon is incredibly sexy.
Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare THE FEELS. I can't even put into words how I truly feel about this book. Not in words that would completely express my love for the characters, the world and the relationships we encounter throughout the whole book.I don't think an ending has ever been more perfect. That was brilliant. I'm so overwhelmed with emotions about the last 70 pages or so. AMAZING. All I can say is. Thank you Cassandra Clare for the most perfect ending EVER.If I could give this 6 stars. I would.
Catching Jordan - Miranda Kenneally Sam Henry
Clockwork Prince - Cassandra Clare First read February 27, 2012This year will be a year of rereads I think. So many good final installments/sequels coming out. Clockwork Prince was one of my favorite books of 2012, can't wait to reread it. I am still on no "TEAM". It's impossible to choose between Jem and Will. How do you choose, seriously.. they are both amazing. Can`t wait for Clockwork Princess so we can finally know how it all ends. I have a few theories, hopefully some of them come true. They would be mind blowing.Update after finishing it for the second time (March 6, 2013)I am most definitely on Team Will. I love Jem, but he is no Will. 13 days until Clockwork Princess... I just don't even know how I'll wait another two weeks before finding out who she picks, what happens with Mortmain, WHAT TESSA IS. DAMMIT I WANNA KNOW WHAT SHE BLOODY IS ALREADY........and just reading about William Herondale. He's pretty SWOON worthy.

Requiem

Requiem - 1. Happy with who Lena ended up choosing. It's who I would have chosen.2. As a whole, this was really great. Read it in one sitting. Could not put it down!!3. The ending was kind of abrupt. I wish there would have been more of a conclusive ending.. It felt so open ended.4. I wish there would have been a LITTLE more cheesiness to it. I'm not one for anything too cheesy, but I felt like there wasn't much at all. Which is both a positive and negative aspect of the book, in my opinion.5. It's definitely my least favorite of the three, but still one of my favorite books/series.6. Hana's POV was better than I expected, but I still wish Alex would have had some POV chapters in there as well.So my rating is more around 4.5 stars. And as much as I was on the fence about both guys, I was somewhat rooting for one a little bit more than the other... He was just, the one I wanted. So yay.
Clockwork Angel - Cassandra Clare First read from September 9th to September 11th, 2010Yay, re-reading the Infernal Devices series before the third and final book comes out in 18 days. Jem and Will are still just as swoon worthy.
